Tunto Design’s LED lights to illuminate the Töölö Library in Helsinki

An iconic building in the Helsinki cityscape, the famous Töölö Library has been under a long and thorough renovation and is bound to be completed in May 2016. The renovation and the new interior has been designed by Helsinki-based architecture agency Arkkitehdit Mustonen Oy.

The agency hired Tunto Design to create a new lighting solution for the library’s original wooden tables, which suffered from too little light before the renovation. Tunto came up with tailor-made lights that fulfill the library’s aesthetic and quality demands. The lights employ the features of Tunto’s own LED40 series, including the innovative touch-sensitive switches and state-of-the-art LED technology.

“We are proud to be part of the future of a famous building and to offer well-illuminated moments of reading for everyone who visits the library”, says Mikko Kärkkäinen, designer and CEO of Tunto Design.
